Home aesthetics

In this work i’m dealing with the deconstruction and new interpretation of prefabricated porcelain decorations. The objects i creates refer to the ideas of postmodernism or pop art. Thus, a similar interest in the manifestations of mass culture and the interconnection of its symbols with other elements in order to gain new meaning. Reinterpretation of the original kitsch decorations can be done with a pleasant level of exaggeration and relaxation, without losing sight of the new functionality of the objects that are created. A somewhat “brutal” approach, reflected in the “amputations” of the individual fragments of figures, leaves the viewer the necessary feeling of concern, which distances the objects from the pure aesthetics of the design used. It is also an intent to pull out the years of the kitsch decoration from their aesthetic context and to give them a contemporary art language.
